Chef Robert Lyford, raised in Collin County, TX, has always had an appreciation and love for real food. His love grew during his time at the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco where he earned his culinary arts degree with an emphasis on cooking with a seasonal approach.  In 2010, Lyford and his wife, Kaci, opened Patina Green Home and Market in McKinney’s historic town square, with the goal of serving his guests real food.  
Lyford works closely with farmers around Texas to make use of the products available locally.  Patina Green Home and Market is a functioning antique shop serving gourmet sandwiches and lunch items during the day, but offers a chef driven multi course dinner menu one evening each month allowing Lyford to showcase his culinary skills in a creative way.

Patina Green has been awarded “Best Sandwich Shop” by DMagazine in 2014 and 2016. The Food Network named Chef Robert’s ham and cheese the “Best Sandwich in the State of Texas”, and it continues to be one of the most popular choices on the lunch menu.
